Activity Boxes for kiddies
Customized kids boxes for our New Years Eve wedding (cat not included)
Families come in all shapes and sizes, which means that more often than not you’ll have some young ones running around at your wedding. Not everyone wants to hire a sitter or say that no children are allowed to come, so here are some ideas to keep them occupied during the party!
We love having customized treats for kids to play with during cocktail hour and reception. You’ll make the kids (and their parents!) feel so special if you create boxes with toys just for them (as in the picture above- cat not included). Here are some things we put in our customized boxes, and other ideas for your own:
Magnetic Puzzles (so the pieces don’t fall all over the floor)
Coloring books and crayons
Customized coloring books are an adorable addition. You can have kids draw a new family portrait for you and your spouse, or color in pre-made drawings all about you and your wedding. Etsy has a lot of talented vendors who create coloring books based on your wedding for kids to use, including SizzleConeDesign, VividBlissPrintables, and AllThingsDelightfulJ.
For any older kids who also need distraction, there’s always iPads! These are so helpful for kids who get bored easily, they can watch movies, play games, and hang out with each other throughout the night.
One thing we don’t suggest giving out in customized boxes is snacks. You never know what allergies they have, especially if they’re not family members. It would be terrible for a friend or family member to have to run out of the party to give a child medicine or take them to the hospital.
